Does anyone have any novel solutions for carrying and bunding 20ltr jerry cans of forecourt diesel? We used to use Fuel-in-a-Box which came in self bunded boxes but recently these have become prohibatively expensive. We only need fuel for mobile welfare units so bowsers are overkill but need to safely carry in vans and bund when on site. Getting the hire company to do it from bowsers isn't an option due to the remote nature of some of the sites. Any suggestions welcome

May I ask two questions. - Why not use a normal 20L metal jerry can for transport, designed for carrying fuel.
- Why do you want to put it on a bund at site ( site rules?) as it is not a legal requirement for that quantity it would have to be over 200L.

Not sure about transporting in a bund but at sites where we didn't have a site container to locate a bunding unit we used a wide painters bucket or scuttle depending on the capacity and dimensions of the fuel container in use.

Short duration sites where the client insisted on having a bund under a fuel container. Never noted any spillage left for sufficient period to impact the integrity of the plastic.

Hi Chris, 1. Yes, if there are no novel answers the intention is to use a standard 20l metal Jerry can 2. Client(s) requirement is to have secure storage of containers during transport and bunded storage when on site(s). Its one of those easy to spot/audit, easy to raise and hard to argue against requirements that are slightly more difficult to be practical about. Clients sometimes dont care about practicality as thats the contractors problem.
