Does anyone know where I can down load BSI Standards free of charge, the cost of acquiring these through the proper channels is ludicrous.
Thanks

I've not found one yet. They jealously guard their copyright in order to maintain the high prices. The best I know is to go to a public library that keeps them (only a few do this) and then have the requisite pages photocopied - but we should not do this!
Some full text data-bases have the text of specific Standards - but the subscription rates to the data-bases are also rather high!

If you are having to purchase British Standards regularly it may be worth your company becoming a member. The price of publications is then reduced by 50%.
Having said that they are still very expensive just like many of the HSE priced publications.

The library of the local Technical College is usually an excellent source of British Standards, and usually open to those within industry (make sure you ask).
As far as I am aware copying is limited to material for study in such locations !!!

I work at the local technical college, and staff are continually asking me for copies of British Standards!!
Obviously technical colleges provide different facilities in your neck of the woods
