I asked someone at IOSH to register me in the Fire Safety group and have heard nothing since. Does anyone know how to contact someone from this group or is there a meeting schedule etc. or any information on how to become "involved" would be appreciated.

My email is paulbullows@btinternet.com

Thanks in advance, Paul

Can I also tag onto this details for the healthcare group? Apart form the training course I have seen recently advertised, I have seen little else.

Me too!

I registered for the Environmental Specialist Group. I must also say I was disappointed by the info on the web site about the specialist groups.

If you aren't happy with your link, try talking to someone in Technical Affairs, i.e. David or Mary, as detailed on p 54 of this month TSHP. I suggest that as a quicker and more professional method than a message on a public website.

Ian,

I don't want to get into a argument over this, I take exception to you comment about professional response. As far as I am aware this site is for discussion about all things H&S including the workings of IOSH. I am not criticising the specialist groups just trying to find out what is going on. Do not try ans stiffle debate.

I am also interested in joining this specialist group. I'd be interested in any information you receive Paul.

Thanks, Shaun

I agree - this group is for discussion - not for a slap down. I also expressed an interest in the health group and ! nothing. Thought we left the remarks page on the old web site -

Sorry, didn't intend to offend, or to inhibit discussion. However, if you desire specific information about one or more Specialist Groups which isn't on their dedicated page, you can click the CONTACT US button at the top of any page and send an e-mail direct to the relevant staff member.

This is more efficient than expecting 'someone at IOSH' to scan these messages and direct queries to the right person. That's not to say they won't ever do that, just that a direct query will probably be both quicker and result in the information desired first time.

As a member of the Healthcare Specialist Group Committee may I take this opportunity on behalf of myself and the other committee members to apologise to anyone awaiting an acknowledgement from us. Upto a few days ago we were under the impression that anyone signing up 2 to this group had received an acknowledgement.

If anyone has signed upto the Healthcare Group or would be interested in details of our activites please drop me an e-mail, christine.lee@gmas-tr.nwest.nhs.uk. We will acknowledge all interested parties as soon as possible.

Regards,
Christine.
