Posted By MALCOLM HAMILTON Looking for guidance on what should be contained within a first aid room. The room would be within a college with both physically and mentally disabled students as well as a nursery.

Posted By Ken Taylor The requirements for first-aid rooms are given in L74 'First Aid at Work' the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance to the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 - available from HMSO (ISBN 0 7176 1050 0). I'd list them here but there is over a page of small print involved!

Posted By Laurie Malcolm In addition to the recommendations suggested by Ken, you should also apply a little bit of local knowledge in the college environment. Talk to your first aiders and your lecturers, particularly your SEN staff. First aid guidance generally not very detailed on, for insstance, an SEN student who has been trodden on by a horse! Laurie
