Posted By Breian Oldham Is there regulation governing electrical equipment (hairdryers) provided for shower users in private clubs - in particular the proximity to water? Currently the dryers are wall mounted and "hard- wired" and the user simply holds the tube to the head. Manager wants to replace with standard plug-in dryers. Would be used on carpet in separate room from showers 10 ft away but with no door. Or is it down to risk assessment?

Posted By R.Woods No No No! He'll get locked up when he electrocutes some poor soul. A competent electrician would not fit Sockets in this area anyway. The regulations are very specific. Ask the NICEIC at niceic.org.uk Robert Woods

Posted By Ashley Williams You could contact your local councils recreation division, most public pools have hair driers around here. So they should be able to help. Ashley
