Posted By Philip Roberts Mark, I have e-mailed you direct with a copy of my own CV with which I had professional help to write. I gained the position I am presently employed in at 60 years of age so the CV must of worked to get me the interview in the first place. Hope this is of some help, Good luck Phil Roberts

Posted By John Johnston Philip, would it be ok to send me a copy also? I compiled my CV myself, have sent it to dozens of places with only one interview. I'm starting to think my CV is also not up to scratch. Very much appreciated if you can help.

I believe that there is now a fairly standard format for professional curriculum vitae. My CV has the following sections: Name: Date of birth: Education: Professional qualifications & memberships: Career and experience: (just a short description) Specialist areas of experience: Professional development: Career history (with the most recent job first) Other information (and I do not bother to include hobbies here) In my experience employers will only initially look at the first half of the front page of a CV, which is why it is critical that your key selling points are there. I am simply not a fan of elaborate CVs.

Posted By Richard Pigg Mark, Your CV looks generally good although I would further emphasis your direct H&S experience. It is open to debate but as you are under 25 I would recommend popping your DOB at the bottom of your CV as you don't want peoples misconceptions to get in your way. Firstly it increases the file size of your CV (not such an issue in these broadband days) but more importantly it deflects attention from the most important part of your CV (your skills) Regards, Richard Pigg Review Health & Safety
