Posted By Paul Huber [Repost due to error in e-mail address] UK EHS Manager This is an opportunity for a motivated, outgoing individual seeking the challenge of working at large high-tech company. This environment, health and safety position is based out of Sun's Linlithgow, Scotland Manufacturing facility, and supports Sun's UK and Ireland Offices. The position would involve some travel to other sites in the UK, approximately 2 - 5 days per month. Reporting to the EMEA EHS Manager and forming a key part of the Global EHS Team you will support EH&S activities as a 100% outsourced employee for Sun Microsystems UK and Ireland. In addition to direct EHS duties in the UK and Ireland duties will include playing an important part of the EMEA and Global team, this may require a commitment to attend meetings by telephone outside normal working hours or possibly international travel. Candidates should have a BS or MS in a safety and health related discipline plus 7+ years experience in EHS, preferably in the high tech industry. Manufacturing / Assembly line experience a major advantage. Good knowledge of UK EHS regulations, some project management experience, and familiarity with ergonomics program development, implementation, or technical human factors engineering is required. Strong computer and communication (written and oral) skills are a MUST. Ability to make independent decisions and write thorough, detailed, timely reports is necessary. Corporate membership of IOSH desirable. For more information, please contact Paul Huber at p.huber@sun.com
