Dear
Sirs I amm currently trying to broaden my experience and move into understanding more about electrical work I am studying the City & Gulids 2360 and wondered if anyone has any assignment work from this course I could look at,changing a car port into a workshop and re-wiring a stable/barn.

I am not sure what the 2360 course is but I hope it is of a practical nature. Once the various mechanical techniques for ensuring a sound electrical installation have been mastered you then need to address the theory. I have just undertaken the 16th Edition wiring regulations course (C&G 2381). This takes you through the theory behind the practical application of electrical wiring. It is a prerequiste of the c&g 2391 course for test and inspection of electrical installations. The new building regulations which came into force on the 1st Jan 2005 require a competent person to certify new installations in bathrooms, kitchens, outside and any new circuits on an existing installation. Additions of a new light or a new socket on an existing circuit, in a room other than a bathroom, kitchen or outside does not require this certificate. The 2391 course provides proof of competency. I strongly suggest you take the two courses mentioned before you attempt the work you described. Alternatively ask a qualified electrician to do the work on the previso that you can assist and be instructed on what to do.
