Posted By Roger the Dodger It can be done, but getting a job is a chicken and egg routine. No job = no experience. No expereince = no job. Many jobs ask for Diploma, which is expensive/time consuming to get. This is sometimes an overboard qualification in lower risk sectors. You are probably best getting the Gen Cert and then trying to get some experience within your your present company - including putting white lies on your CV as regards experience. Once you have done that, start applying for stand alone h&s jobs.

Posted By Jim-F I feel it's not the job requirements that matter too much, loads of employers ask for the Nebosh cert. but then guys with more qualifications and experience apply and get the job. put it this way you could be lucky enough to get a job with the nebosh cert. but you have a better chance with the diploma, but going straight into the diploma could be quite hard, I did the certificate first but didnt get a job till I had the diploma. good luck mate JIM F
