Posted By Sean McIntyre I'm a 24 year old Australian who has recently moved to London. I have a bachelor of applied science in Occupational Health and Safety. This is a three year full time university degree and was obtained from RMIT University. It has been recognised by NARIC as being equivalent to a British Degree. For the last two and a half years I have worked for BHP Billiton as a health and safety advisor in their mining operations. I was recruited out of university to this position as part of their graduate program. While at university I also undertook vacation employment with Esso Australia Pty Ltd at their Longford gas plant. I have also just applied for membership to IOSH. I have familiarised myself with the UK legislation and through my experience have been exposed to all aspects of health and safety. I am very keen to work and gain some UK experience to further develop my career. I am frustrated with the difficulty I am having getting work due to no UK experience. Hence I am willing to work for free for sometime to get my foot in the door with some UK experience. If anyone knows of, or has any positions they feel would be suitable please contact my.
