Posted By Susan Williams Property support business specialising in interior fit-out and facilities management seeking a Graduate Health & Safety Advisor to support health and safety compliance for clients in the retail, finance, leisure, commercial, education, social housing and public sectors. Duties:- 1. Undertake site health & safety inspections 2. Produce H&S Plans & Files 3. Give advice to staff / operatives / clients 4. Undertake training, staff / operatives 5. Assist in producing ‘new’ training modules for staff / operatives 6. Assist in the continual development of a mature Safety Management System 7. Assist in accident / incident investigation, 8. Involvement in local accident review panels 9. Produce a variety of reports (word, excel) 10. Undertake minutes of various Health & Safety meetings 11. Undertake Health & Safety audits 12. Initially report to the Health & Safety Manager Minimum qualification - degree qualified in Health & Safety. Salary c£18K. Must be confident in representing company and communicating with Senior Management/Client Organisations/HSE. Construction experience desirable (e.g. placement experience). Posted By Susan Williams This vacancy is a graduate in training role and as such the salary reflects that the candidates will not have industry experience. The list of duties was to give a 'flavour' of what the role will include. The successful candidate is not expected to be working at full capacity on joining the company. I trust this clarifies the role.

Posted By Paul Oliver we should have an acceptable guideline that allows a certain min wage to be advertised your about to leave Uni wtih £20000plus in costs for your qualification and you need to buy a 2 bedroom starter home @ £140 000. you've got no chance on £18000.

Posted By Ml Paul, Although I appreciate that funding a University Degree is a costly exercise, the fact that a Graduate needs to buy a 140,000 grand 2 bedroom house and owes a fortune in bank loans should not dictate the salary of a job. This should be done the job content/roles/responsibilities/location/experience/quals etc. I hear only too often the standard story of a graduate seeking his first post and is looking to jump in to the super tax bracket with a degree and three years experience of working in a bar. And maybe a couple of weeks work placement in their chosen profession! Come on be serious. Sorry for getting emotional, however, I feel quite strongly about this topic. I am in agreement with you on the salary though......it is pretty low even for training position....... Ml

Posted By Clairey O when i graduated i was just grateful to have a job, five years on, i would jump at the chance of this, my only downfall is that i live in a completly different part of the country. I'm in a similar trainee position that pays less, my saving grace is that the company i work for look after us in other ways, and are quite supportive of where we are trying to go.
