Posted By mark ryan Hi all. I am starting the second year of my Health, Safety and Environmental Management Degree on Monday. My thoughts are turning to my placement year and I would appreciate any ideas on what employers are looking for in CVs. I am interested in attending a conference on Health and Safety or Environmental Management as I feel this would enhance my CV, could anybody please suggest one in the Midlands. Thanks Mark Ryan

Posted By Alex Burbidge Hi Mark, I completed the full time Nottingham Trent SHE degree back in 2002 and to be honest employers wont be looking to closely at your attendance on the odd course or conference – especially for the placement year. In my opinion put your efforts and money into getting a decent degree level so that your head of the game when it comes to competition between grads. Secondly employers will probably be more interested in how you will fit in with their existing team etc etc.....so prep for the interiew is a must!! Good luck Alex
