Hi All
Maybe a stupid question, but can anyone advise me if I can join IOSH after I pass my NEBOSH Gen Cert? I have been looking on the site at all the membership pages, but I'm still none the wiser.
Thanks
Hx

Hi Helen,
You can join IOSH as an affiliate member without any qualifications.

Helen, as already stated you can join as an Affiliate menber. My only 'recognised H+S qualification is The Nebosh General Certificate, however I have attended a lot of different seminars and training days.
You apply to IOSH by filling in their application form and submitting copies of all you certificates / qualifications. The benefits are well worth while, even if you/me are on the bottom rung of the ladder as regards H+S.

Helen,
Also, after our impending membership changes. The 'new' NEBOSH General Certificate obtained after December 2002 will be an accredited qualification for our new Tech IOSH category of membership. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have 5 years experience in an employment role that includes health and safety. This would not need to be full-time, and can be prior to obtaining the qualification. It will carry the designation Tech IOSH which you could use on business cards. If you haven't the experience than you could be Affiliate and enjoy the benefits of IOSH membership until you are ready to upgrade.
