Posted By Stuart Oakey Hello, are any of the frequent visitors to this website in the power industry? I work in operations, have had the NEBOSH General Certificate since Feb 2001, qualified to Senior Authorised Person, completed HV switching course, DSE Assessor, Ergonomics Assessor, the list goes on. Like so many other visitors to the site, I'm finding it hard to get my first proper Safety position. I'd be grateful for any advice, tips or general help. Stuart

Posted By cfraser Stuart, I find myself in a similar position, power industry various certs including NEBOSH Cert, HV Switching etc, Now in Oil and Gas, still in operations although went for Nebosh Diploma, awaiting results and hopefully things might improve. My only advice is to try to get youre employer to sponsor you to sit NEBOSH Diploma and see how it goes from there, Ive been trying for 2/3 years, a couple of interviews but nothing much else, others on here have said to take on some voluntary work with charities etc to gain valuable experience, best of luck, Colin

Posted By Tom O Donnell Stuart My company, Long O Donnell Associates, (www.long-odonnell.com) provide SHE auditing services to National Grid across their transmission system. We are currently seeking to appoint around 20 auditors nationally to supplement our current resources. If you send your CV to mail@long-odonnell.com, I can discuss further. Should you know of any other candidates, I would also be interested in hearing from them. Kind Regards
