Posted By Karen Jane Bradley We are installing a small disabled lift in a shop and the query I have is how to provide some form of edge protection as he is installing the insides of the lift? From what I believe he will be working his way up the lift shaft from the ground level and there will be no where for him to hook a harness onto? Has anyone came across anything like this before?

Posted By peter gotch Karen This job is generally done from a scaffold within the shaft, with additional edge protection at any unprotected shaft openings. Also check out BS EN 81-71:2005, Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts Regards, Peter
