Posted By Mark W Stapley I've been asked to provide further details of what the role involves, so here goes. The successful candidate(s) will work within a SHE team across two sites in Lancashire, either at Warton or Samlesbury, each site currently employs approx. 6,900 / 3,700 although this is expected to rise! SHE team structure (career path) is typically Managers / Advisors / Associates / co-ordinators & risk assessors. Roles and Responsibilities Business SHE Associate support professionals (Grade E) These roles are aimed at providing the business with professionally qualified SHE professionals. These professionals will work within the businesses, workload will be managed by the business, however, objectives will be jointly set by both the business and the core SHE team. In essence, persons appointed to these roles will become safety advisors working directly in the business. The role will involve Co-ordination (and implementation) of the SHE management system OHSAS18001 / ISO 14001 Standard into the business Unit, which will mean: Assisting with • Level 1 and 2 SHE Plans • Risk Assessments • Review meetings • Self Audit systems • Safety management systems • Support local management Reviewing / critique: • Contractor method statements • Contractor Job Registration Forms • Risk Assessments • Safety plans • Safety procedures • Safe systems of work • Company Codes of Practice Advising on: • The selection and purchase of safety equipment, PPE, etc. • The identification of workplace activities and the consequent risk assessment. • The organisation and possible, delivery of Safety training (company / contractor induction’s, toolbox talks, etc.). • Accident investigation Reporting on: • The Compilation and presentation of accident analysis (statistics) to the various business and site committees. • Progress against Unit objectives • Other safety metrics • Business accident / incidents • Incidents / accidents as defined within RIDDOR to the HSE. Monitor • Accident / incident investigations. • Level 1 / 2 SHE planning Attend • Site SHE committee meetings as required. • Business safety reviews. (note, business priorities will determine specific workload)
