Hello I am brand new to this website.
In December I passed my Nebosh General Certificate in H&S, I paid for this myself after being forced to give up my job as a Steel Erector on site after an accident.
I am looking for an entry level H&S position or Assistant Site\Contracts management posts within 40 miles of the Bristol area and was wondering if anyone could possibly give me any advice ?
I have lots of experience within Manufacturing and Construction a lot of this at a supervisory level.
I am 36 years of age and also have a City and Guilds in mechanical engineering, a BTEC 1st Diploma in construction studies, a CSCS gold card and an IPAF Powered access ticket.
Hope this is of some interest to someone.

Its worth registering with TRS http://www.trsstaffing.com/
They specialise in this sort of thing and although they might (possibly)not have anything at present they will def keep in contact.
I hope it helps

Dan,
This is where you need to use your nonce a bit.
You have the qualification, but not the direct experience in safety. So, sell yourself on the basis that you have the full practical knowledge and understanding of construction, and that puts you into a strong position to fully understand construction sites etc.
However, one of the problems you may enounter is that on this side of the fence, shortcuts are rarely acceptable, as they are full of unnecessary risk, and that type of risk is unacceptable. In your previous career your perception of those risks may well have been different!
Good luck, and don't stop pushing!
