Posted By Anita Bathgate Since completing my Nebosh certificate last November,I have been avidly seeking an assistant Health and Safety position but to no avail. Prior to completing the certificate I acted as Health and Safety Advisor for a Primary Care Trust (annual term).However, this was in addition to my core post as Occupational Therapist and proved unviable.I have been an OT for 17 years so have 17 years problem solving behind me! I have recently become a competent manual handler for the Trust and am hoping to attain a certificate as a DSE assessor. I also lecture on Risk assessment to OT students and others. I have been a Health and Safety Rep for approximately 7 years and have qualifications relevant to this. I have an opportunity to complete Level 4 NVQ in H+S but need to commence asap as my chosen assessor retires at the end of next year.Whilst I have scope to complete some modules within my present post I am keen to apply it within a new workplace and make that difference! I presently work in North Somerset but live in Bristol.I must emphasize that funding is not the issue here so is anybody willing to give me the chance?
