Posted By Tony I'm looking for a career change following 18 years at the BBC working in a technical capacity. For the past couple of years I have been the union H&S Rep for the site I work on and am now keen to find out how to pursue a career in H&S. The only relevant qualification I currently hold is the TUC H&S Stage 1 Certificate. I am taking Stage 2 later this year. Any advice a path to follow would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

Posted By JasonGould Do a search of all your local colleges and take up the Nebosh Cert. I did jump into the full twelve day course but preferred to do it part time at evenings over 6 months. For all those whom did the 12-day and passed, well done because I could not even contemplate it. The amount of info is deep and a shock for beginners at first but the slow digestion speed from part-time learning really helped for when it come to moving up to the diplomas. Here you will meet all sorts of folks, some of which are already quite established in the industry. You learn a lot from fellow class mates. Good Luck
