Does anyone know of any good sources where I can find pay scales for Health & Safety jobs? I've tried the usual sources (monster/totaljobs)
Regards

There was a salary survey in SHP a few months ago but to be honest, there is so much variation in salary between sector, team leadership responsibilities, commercial risk, necessary qualification, location, etc that the best way is to ask people their opinion what the going rate is any of the Recruitment Consultancies that advertise in SHP would also be happy to help.

As previously stated on this subject by many
"it all depends on how much the employer is prepared to pay"

I may be incorrect but I thought there may be one here on the IOSH site. Please don't shoot me if I am incorrect.
As a previous response stated it might have been in SHP, sorry but it's my age not being able to be precise.

Yes that's all very well, but I have been offered a job and although the job is more interesting and more experience etc etc, I'd have to take a paycut and would obviously like something to compare it with when it comes to negotiating.
Richard, I know you work for AndersElite, what's the going rate for a starter position in H&S consultancy?

Dave

I do not know exacltly what you mean by Junior Consultant I recently placed someone with 10 years Safety experince and who is CMIOSH but only inhouse experince, technically you could call her a Junior Consultant, conversely a first jobber straight out of Uni you could call a Junior Consultant, they would get very different salaries.
For a generalist safety consultant doing pure RA work I would expect salaires to be £25-£30k for someone doing more policy orientated work £28k - £35k.
Don't hesitate to drop me an email if you want to go into more detail.
