10 weeks ago I contacted all (12) the recuitment agenices in HSP and asked them to place me on their data-base.

I'm was just looking to see what's around + hoping to catch some head-hunters eye

As Chartered Fellow with 15 years experience in large global companies - you'd expect a few bites - but of the 12 agencies - only 3 responded and they were not too enthusiastic or passionate.

So in my humble opinion loosing the "job page" will be a terrible loss for smaller recruiters and progressing professionals - IOSH may gain - but its memebers may not !!!

It's a great shame that job adverts will be barred from this forum. Even if only a relatively small number of people have been recruited here, that's still something very positive.

Like others who have posted on previous threads have commented, this appears to be purely for financial reasons - to force those advertising here to pay to use SHP. Appreciated that IOSH would lose a lot of money if all companies advertising in SHP suddenly started to use this forum for free, but hardly a realistic prospect.

Continue to allow the small number of job adverts there presently are on this forum and if someone gets a job through this medium, then great!

I like to think I can see both sides of an argument and there is certainly two sides here.
The Career Forum has been a source of inspiration to some, and frustration to others. Many people use the Career Forum to gauge their worth, consider moving on or just for hope. However, they might feel inclined to then view the Discussion Forum. Now of course, they may not feel so inclined.

I like the idea of providing a service by making a charge for those wishing to advertise their wares. Most agencies and companies could afford a small fee. Individual members could either advertise for free or perhaps a smaller fee.

At the end of the day, many who operate on a consultant basis will lose out. Those seeking a first time job, moving on or just window shopping, will also lose out. Therefore removing the facility for job adverts is hardly a progressive step is it?

The avenue whereby you can advertise that you are looking for work is definately not going, you also can view job vacancies in the SHP and on their www which is also free to view, so really do not see what the issue is, as you can still see the jobs and still let the safety community know that you are available for free on the careers forum.

Persons who are looking for employees will have to pay like every other employment sector has to

In fact this will be a very valuable source for recruitment agencies to get more people on their books!

However you only have until after the weekend to advertise this!
