Neal is it ok to place references to other sites that further advertise your skills similar to the post titled Available for work!.

So similar to that thread, I can set up a blog site and get free and better advertising for myself as well as showing more info to potential employers. Am I wrong here?

I would appreciate clarification on this issue as I was doing something similar to Gary. This is not a snipe at Gary but with the availability of BLOG sites and the fact those seeking work can now create small sites that act similar to CV's but also contain a personal profile i.e. pictures and examples of past work, abilities and covering letters that usually is not able to fit on CV's, I would like to know if this is allowed on the IOSH careers forum.

It helps me and also helps potential employers.

Regards

Jason

Hi Jason,

Like you, we want to help members promote themselves as much as possible to find a new job. That’s why we’re working with SHP to provide a website designed as a jobs website that will help both jobseekers and employers with lots of easy to use features.

Linking out from the IOSH site by individuals in the way you described isn’t an option – it would make acceptable use guideline 2 almost impossible to uphold. You can of course share such links with other forum users / prospective employers privately by email, meaning that CV files, presentations etc will go straight to their desktop.
