I was just wondering if the forum could be cleared out? From a cynics
point of view it looks like there are a lot of job requests but no successes?

If they cannot be cleared (or unable etc) would it be possible for the
requesters to say if successful?

Just a thought...

Hi Jeffrey,

We do archive threads regularly but haven't yet been accused of not archiving enough. Thanks for saving us from that one!

The older threads from jobseekers were left when we removed all the job ads earlier this month. It just shows how much forum space was being taken over by advertising. It needs a little time to settle down.

You must have missed the response I posted on the "Request for moderator's guidamce .." thread dated 13 July which is some way down the index listing and includes the sentence:

To encourage other jobseekers to use the forum, why not post a thread to tell people when you've been successful?

Good idea.

Have a sunny weekend,

Angela

Your absolutely right to post this message, I am one of those people who posted a recent message looking for a position in H&S.
I have had no Job agencies contacting me, but actual H&S Managers/professionals, in actual Companies.
It is a fact to that this forum is watched and read by colleagues in the Health and Safety world, and this is an excellent Networking opportunity.
If I am succesful in my Interviews and am offered a position I will feed back to the forum, although I hope my abilities rather than Luck get me a position!

Its never down to luck.

I have a 100% sucess rate and have been offered every job i have ever gone for.

Its not down to luck that its occured that way, its down to my qualification, my personal attributes, the way i put myself across and ultimatly being realistic.

Luck is for the irish

'Luck is for the Irish' Not surprised Health and Safety has got such a reputation - if we were all as arrogant we'd never get the message across! Cooperation is key!

It's a saying! - and broadly means, "I do not believe, or I don't need unexplained help". Keep it in context peeps.

My way of looking at it is that "you make your own luck". Until recently I also had a 100% success rate - but when you start to stretch a bit, a couple of failures don't hurt. Applying only for jobs you know you can get is fine too...

Thank god someone on here has heard of the saying

And it would be wrong to mistake self confidence and self belief for arrogance...maybe you should be questioning your own approach to recruitment before branding someone else arrogant
