Posted By Martin Turner Hello Colleagues,
I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable FEMALE looking to secure a Junior / Trainee position in the North West of England and will be 20 years of age in January 2006. I left school with 11 GCSE passes and have recently completed a full CITB joinery apprenticeship and I am currently working towards achieving the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
I possess over three years construction site experience, hold a full driving licence and have my own car and therefore willing to travel.
Any advice and guidance in regard to how I can secure a junior/trainee position on a salary circa 10K - 14K / Annum will be greatly appreciated.
I look forward hearing from you.
Best regards - Chantal (sugar_lips_tilly@hotmail.com) PS This thread was posted by my tutor who is Chartered Member of IOSH

Posted By Paul Oliver I reckon a change in e-mail address should be a good starting point :-)
Theres also no need to specify your gender, all H&S positions are open to everyone regardless of age, race, gender, ability, etc.
I would have a good look on the net and regiser your CV with a number of agencies. Don't think I can name them here, but try googling for H&S jobs and a lot of regular agencies appear.
Best of all, try, try and try again.
Good Luck.

Posted By AlB Absolutely take notice of the above comments. Remember that potential employers want a person who is professional (so for goodness sake get another e-mail address!!!), someone who is confident and fair and can work with all types of people (so don't stipulate your gender, and especailly don't highlight it by putting it in CAPITALS!)
Distribute your CV to agencies (but be selective - there are some not so good ones out there), and search for those positions on the internet, newspapers, industry magazines and speculatively.
Good luck.

I don't get your meaning. What do you mean "take a chill pill"? I'm offering the girl some information and advice. I'm not upset by her e-mail address, mearly pointing out the importance of professional appearance and the fact that most employers will be put off by that kind of e-mail address.
Now I've had my mini yet harmless rant at you, I feel highly chilled.......... :p
