I have been involved in safety in one guise or another for 20 years. I am currently a Health and Safety Manager for a manufacturing company that employs 250 people and a graduate member of IOSH working through my CPD to becoming a Chartered Member and hold an NVQ 4 in occupational health and safety (Equivalent to NEBOSH degree level for those that don't know).

The company I work for is struggling at present so I am trying to be in life as I am in safety and pro-active, and looking around for other opportunities to ply my trade. I love the work that I do and want to be doing it for the rest of my life. I have had success whichever company I have worked for.

At my current company I have reduced accidents by 50% with a hearts and minds approach giving ownership at all levels. I was with my last company for 12 years and am looking to lay my hat for the long haul somewhere else.

I have chose this route to look for a position because I believe most people in this forum or who use it take safety very seriously as I do.

I live in the East Midlands region but are willing to travel for the right position as Jobs in my area seem few and far between.

I have a current CV and two professional references one from my previous Safety Director that can be provided if required.

Just to give a broad outline to what areas I have covered;

Distribution Yards and Factory environments, including all truck and pedestrian interaction
Dangerous machinery and all associated issue
Chemicals and all associated issues
Office environments
Training, awareness and Inductions (I create my own)
Policy creation and its implementation
All types of Risk assessment and accident investigations
Working with councils and residents committees
Report writing
Cost analysis reports
Epidemioligcal surveys
Occupational Health

There is many more but I don't want to bore people hopefully you have some idea if anyone is interested please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards
Alan

Obviously not much interest yet, but we all live in hope.

Thanks for the couple of direct replies so far. I did hope for a few more though as I know what improvements I can bring to any company I work for and actually add value.

Thanks again

I can't believe that with all the qualifications you say you have, you cant find work.

With specific regard to your question JF. As I stated I am in employment but it isn't as secure as I expected it to be.

The problem is at the present time there doesn't seem to be a lot of posts in the midlands area although travelling is not an issue as both my present and last positions were multi-site facilities including travelling even as far as Europe.

For anyone who does not have access to the e-mails I can be reached at a.murphy19@ntlworld.com.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Alan

Alan,

Are you still looking?

Or have things inproved where you are / have you moved on?

Are you willing to relocate, or just travel as part of the job?
