Good afternoon.
I am looking for recommendations for a provider within travelling distance of the Macclesfield area (East Cheshire, 20 miles from Manchester, Stoke On Trent) who can offer a recognised 'Train To Train' course. My last one was internal and was back in approximately 2000 so I need a refresher.
Kind regards Ian Mitchell

Are you looking for a general 'teaching' type qualification or something specific to a type of training suchs as the many manual handling train the trainer courses?

Liverpool Community Collage do the CIEH Train The Trainer for something like £250, which is a fantastic price.

Their number is: 0151 709 3079.

I offer purpose developed courses, but if you are looking for letters after your name, try the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Their Certificate in Training Practice will be invaluable.

Hi again, I meant the generic type of course that teaches you how to recognise the needs of delegates, make it digestible in bite sized chunks etc. I had a course a few years back in about 2001 but it was internal. Cheers for the pointers so far...

Hi Ian,

Again, if that is what you are looking for then the CIPD 'Certificate in Training Practice' should meet your needs. It will deal with Training Needs Analysis, i.e. Identifying organisational, departmental and individual learning needs, together with course design and structure (i.e. how not to make it a boring lecture!). It will also cover identifying and using learning styles as well as evaluation and validation methods.

Take care!
