I'm considering looking for Associate Consultants to pass on some of the H&S work that I currently am hard pushed to deliver for clients. However, I've no idea what rates may be sought, or what I should be offering to either a CMIOSH with several years exp. or a newly qualified Practitioner.

Is anyone willing to share this info?

I am not sure if you will get many responses to your question. I think pricing can be quite sensitive for most businesses and it is a commercial issue. I would suggest doing some market research and asking associates what they expect, plus doing your own profit calculations.

regards

Ian

Thanks Ian. This is part of my market research although I did not expect to generate masses of responses.

Interestingly I have had a couple of off-line responses that do provide some indication of rates. That fits with your suggestion of commercial sensitivity.

If more people wish to do the same I am quite happy to collate and publish my (anonymised) findings here.

Over to you dear readers on this fine Friday - no Friday answers please!

Thanks to all who responded to my genuine request.

It seems that the rates fall in to two areas: For CMIOSH the minimum is £400 per day, whilst a Cert Holder can expect £175-200. Mileage is generally paid at £0.40. These are minima reported by off-line respondents.

It will be interesting when IOSH do the next Salaries survey to see how this result compares to a much larger and scientific based study.

I currently work for a Safety Training company as a trainer and they charge clients much more for that per day for my time - however I only get a small percentage of their charges
