Any thoughts on if it worth doing this one if I already have the Gen Cert.

I would like to do it, but consider it but considering the cost is there any benefits i.e. career wise, CV etc.

Or would I be better to start the Dip/NVQ level 4/5/6 or whatever it is these days.

Any advice?

If you have gained your Gen. Cert. in the last few years, now's the time to do it... You miss out half of it, because of the Gen. Cert.!

For my money, I would say do it, Richard, but then, the Gen. Cert. is viewed by some on here as Kindergarten stuff anyway! I don't subscribe to that view, but others do!

Malcolm,

Its Around £440 distance or elearning (aprx 55hrs). Next Nebosh now would be March 07 as its late to enrole for the Dec exam with most trainers I have spoken to.

Naveem,

I don't have one from the course as I have not started it yet. But I would use the normal 5 steps but look deeply. I don't see any that any ones form would suit another, only as a guide. Check out the HSE and look at some of the sites that are touting for your custom and you can learn a lot.

Hello Malcolm,
In response to your posting - I did the Fire certificate for a couple of hundred less than the General and I did it on-line in 10 weeks as I started late, but didn't need to cover the management elements. Hope that helps.

GJB,

Yes I think your dead right on both counts.

Some people do forget where they started of had the opportunity to go direct to Dip or higher.

But that's another thread well covered on this forum.
