Newly NEBOSH qualified and looking for a position for progression and training

Posted By Dannii Hello all,
I have previously created a forum entry for myself a few months ago but sadly have had no luck in negotiating myself a post. Since then I have been invited to attend in house training events within my current employment, which has helped to expand my education and horizons.
Basically I have recently qualified in NEBOSH certificate with no formal experience in H&S which was my problem.
Since my last entry however I have attended numerous courses on CIEH Risk Assessment, Fire Safety, Asbestos Awareness and I have also helped to implement new safety policies within my own office.
I am still looking for a H&S position to move into for a future career path. I am currently based in derby and it would be preferable to stay within the vicinity but I would be willing to relocate if the offer was right. I am also looking for a company with the prospect for internal training and promotion as I would be looking to further my qualifications and experience within your confines.
If this sounds like a position that anyone has available or if anybody out there would be able to give me some advice, please get in touch
Many kind regards Dannii

Posted By craig ellis have you allways worked in an office enviroment?
i know people who have gained the construction cert and can allways point to there general site experiance in helping these people get a start.
for instance.
i know someone who completed the general cert followed by the construction, he also had 5 years experiance with excavators and walked into a job with a civil engineering co, he got the job as much on his site experiance with heavy machinary aswell as his qualifications.
good luck anyway.

Posted By Dannii Hi everyone,
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has got in contact with me or has offered me support and advice from my posting here. I have now managed to secure my first H&S position and so now I officially have my foot in the door.
I wish everyone else who is trying desperately to land their first job the best of luck.
kind regards to all and I hope you have fantastic weekends!!
Happy early Easter

Posted By Karen C Hi Dannii,
Pleased to hear you have got a new post, however just one comment... the term 'nebosh qualified' for a nebosh cert sometimes leads to confusion as it implies you have a diploma. suggest you say you have a nebosh cert rather than use this term. Sorry if this is late advice. Have been away from the site for a while.

Posted By Dave West Well Done Danii!
I am glad you came back to share your good news as many other people that are in the situation you were will gain some hope.
Good luck in the new job as like myself the journey has just begun. NEBOSH cert is a dificult course though i'm sure no ill intent was meant previously by someone previously.
Dave
