I am an Occupational Health Practitioner in Bristol looking for ways to recruit staff to carry out health screening. I want to avoid the press, recruitment sites, agencies - expensive and not very effective. Does any one have any tried and tested methods to recruit??
So far I've put adverts up on hospital notice boards and gone to a few net working meetings. So far no joy. Thank you. Stephen Roberts

Hi Stephen,

Just seen your posting and felt I had to respond as I think you are doing recruitment agencies a injustice by saying that we are costly and ineffective, plus possibly overlooking your best method of finding staff.

I am an H&S recruiter and, like most of my competitors, work on a contingency basis - so you only pay if we deliver.

By the sounds of it you have already tried alternate methods of sourcing candidates, but had no joy to date - would this have been the case had you gone the agency route?

The reason for my post is not to try and secure your business(to be honest it's not something I would be able to help you with - I predominantly recruit perm HSE's for the construction sector) but to say if you are actively looking for good people at the moment, why not try one of the one or two agencies that specialise in your area of need.

Regards

Adam
