Seeking Offshore Safety Advisor Position

Posted By Jim Raistrick My safety qualifications are: NEBOSH national general certificate and IOSH managing safety (construction) certificate. I started my career as an electrician in the engineering and construction industries and progressed to site supervision before moving into the offshore industry. Whilst offshore I have experience as an electrician, deck crew, stage 3 crane operator and helicopter landing officer. For over two years I have been a safety representative which has given me valuable experience in site inspections, safety audits, STOP tours, risk assessments and permit to work controlling. I also have experience in incident investigations. If anyone could offer advise how to move onto the first rung of the ladder as an offshore safety professional, I would be most grateful and keen to hear from you.

Posted By Jim Raistrick As part of my safety rep's training, I completed the SI 971 offshore safety rep's course and in house training for accident / incident investigations and use the Synergi reporting system. As mentioned, I also have a NEBOSH certificate and an IOSH MS certificate. I am also an associate member of IIRSM with a view of progressing this with further experience. It is also my intention to join IOSH, hopefully at Tech IOSH level.
