Posted By Bruce Sutherland Dear Moderators - doubtless you will lock the thread
Thought it was about time to put my oar in - like many others I used to find this website very useful
Recently I was blocked for offering an opportunity to a sandwich student......
The overall level of use of this part of the site would appear to much lower
Has anyone considered that perhaps one of the reasons for the issues associated with the " demise of the website" is the fact that the majority of job ad space in Practitioner is taken by recruitment consultancies. 15 jobs in a full page does not really make for good sales... easy sales yes but not lots of sales
oh and don't get me started on the level of "service" they offer
As many other people have said there has to be a better way ... well we had one
As an employer it was good because it was free and instant
Presumably as a potential employee it was also good?
Given that IOSH is rarely slow on coming forward to make money.... how many trade associations actually complete with their own members interest? IOSH training? Then perhaps there is a better way but then maybe it would impact on subs which are - and I am opening on all fronts very cheap.......
oh by the way I do have various letters inc MaPS MIDE and CFIOSH, and I am not on a self interest campaign
Look forward to the formal response
Cheers
Bruce

Posted By Descarte I agree with the above sentiments, IOSH can sometimes really shoot themselves in the foot, are they not meant to be here to help promote and develope the field of H+S?

Posted By IOSH Moderator Bruce, We want to acknowledge that the moderating team have read your comments. Unfortunately we as a team are not in a position to formally respond on behalf of IOSH on this issue. The moderators role is to implement the policies agreed at a higher level. However we can assure you that your complaints have been forwarded to the relevant IOSH Committee. For the record, the proper way to raise the issue as a complaint is set down on this web-page: http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...go=discussion.guidelinesWe would strongly encourage people to use this channel rather than starting threads which we will have to lock under AUG 4. This thread has now been locked. Regards Jonathan Breeze Moderator
