I have been in H&S for 11 years, I have a NEBOSH cert and NVQ 4 in management and Occ H&S, I am currently working in the construction industry and would like a new challenge. I would like to work in the middle east but don't know where to look for jobs, can anyone give me some guidance/advice on where to look and salary expectations etc.

Stuart,

To give you an idea on Dubai packages for Safety Managers, I have listed below an average package:

£50,000 per annum Tax Free salary
Free Accommodation or Allowance
Schooling Fees Paid
5 weeks holiday + Public holidays
4 Wheel drive vehicle i.e. Nissan Pathfinder
Free Petrol Card
Annual Pay Rises
Annual Bonus

Based on the above package you could say that to earn the same in your hand in the UK you would be looking at a UK income of at least £125,000 plus.

Dubai is also one of the safest places in the world to work with a very multinational culture. Also add on the fact of excellent facilities for the whole family from sports, restaurants, shopping etc, and it is sunny all year round. (One of the worlds top holiday destinations)

I would say that the safety managers, who work for me here in Dubai, are more challenged in their day-to-day work, but at the same time, none of them would swap their jobs in Dubai for the UK.

Good luck in your job search, and if you would like any further info send me an email.

Wayne

If you have any contacts or web sites I could use I would be grateful.
