I'm trying to look at ways I can more reasonably base myself at home.I hold CMIOSH and curently undertake occasional consultancy work to SME's locally in the North West. I'm exploring the idea of offering my services as a proofreader of Health and Safety articles, ournals and books etc. and am trying to establish the level of demand. Is there already a well established pool of proof readers serving Health and Safety authors? Is there a demand for this sort of service? Is it more important to have proof reading experience rather than Health and Safety? Does it pay well? I would be grateful to read anyone's advice or comments on the matter. Posted By Paul Leadbetter Alex Your H&S experience will enable you to spot factual errors, such as incorrect legislation, etc, but you may need proof reading training to enable you to spot errors in grammar or punctuation. I proof read reports from experienced H & S consultants and it is amazing how inventive they can be when their command of English lets them down! Good luck Paul
