These may be a good place to start:
Principles of Health and Safety at Work by Allan St. John Holt - available on Amazon.
The Law of health and safety at work - Croner publishing, Pricey, but can be invaluable for refreshing your memory.

Yes the Stranks one gets my vote too, although if going for the Gen Cert I would also recommend the Hughes and & Ferret Book
