Hi there, My name is James Fearns and Im really keen to gain my first H&S role.Unfortunatley the scenario that seems to be stopping me is the '2 years experience 'or similar .I live in Lancaster but I will be relocating to Bicester (Oxfordshire) over the next few months.I have the Nebosh construction cert and over twelve years experience in a Scaffolding capacity.I have worked in oil & gas,petro-chem,off-shore and recently worked as Scaffold supervisor on London Terminal 5 for over four years.I would appreciate any help you could offer.Im hoping to start the Nebosh national diploma next year .

Posted By CW Keep trying James, it took me almost two years of trying before being given the chance. It was very disheartening and many a time I questioned whether to carry on or not, I'm glad I did carry on as I am very happy at my place of work. I had plenty of interviews but came across your situation all of the time which annoyed me because they could quite easily see what I had experience wise by my CV, yet they still invited me in. Posted By Mike S Hi James, sorry to hear your struggle, its never easy and yes i often wondered if i was ever going to regain my sanity, but luckily for me about 7 years ago got my lucky break!! Now a health and safety manager for a multi million quid firm, but anyways, thats not why i responded to your thread, email me on motorwaymike@fsmail.net as i may have an oportunity in the near future i.e. after xmas for a CDM Co-ordinator possibly....no promises tho!
