Having been qualified to TechIOSH status for a year now, what must I do to develop myself further? By this I mean, I have gained promotion at work and I'm under no illusion that my qualification and status have aided me in this promotion but will this count as CPD or must I do more. I await answers in anticipation

The actual promotion (and congratulations) is not safety or personal development to my mind.
To develop yourself personally is not to stagnate at your current learning level in H&S matters.
Upgrade your knowledge on new legislation as it happens - you can count this as part of development, it doesn't just have to be course attendance.
Some courses you may attend will teach you nothing new, so how can you count CPD points for non learning. Other in depth training can count for several points.
Local IOSH branch meetings can be counted within your development points from lectures and presentations - again , score from how much it was useful to you personally.
I have counted a manufacturer's training course on safety interlocks before, as my risk assessment on their machinery became more in depth and pertinent to the machine's use on site - I learnt something new and developed my knowledge of their product safety.
I'm sure that others will come in to show you other examples of practical development.

Can't disagree with what the ol fella has offered above generally, but I might be inclined to suggest that if the promotion was in fact H&S related i.e you have gone from 'understudy to Manager or similar then your development path (perhaps as previously identified when you commenced CPD) has come to fruition, or at least that part has, and should IMHO be worthy of a credit or two depending on how the progression took place and as I said how you originally identified it in your overall development plan, you may have put a lot of work into that progression learning new skills along the way and as such is worthy of CPD's, again, IMO.
Well done BTW.

Hi Glyn,
Whilst I agree with you that some events give no added value whatsoever, but consolidation of existing knowledge would count as development under Maintenance of Skills.
Sorry, Brian - not answering your question perhaps, but congratulations on your promotion also.
