Posted By maxmillan maddy I have 6 years experience in health and safety but it was a bolt on role with a supervising role.I quit my job last year because job satisfaction was zero and there were no opportunities to move up the ladder. I started my own business doing courier work but it's not going the way I'd expected. I want to get back into health and safety now. I have various experience such as risk assessment, production line inspections, training and assessing staff on how to identify dangerous occurrences and safety through people. I have a certificate in supervising safely through IOSH and in-house training workshops. Really don't know where to start from. I feel am not qualified enough to get back into the industry.I want to be a health and safety advisor. Can anyone advice me on what to do. Thanks

Posted By Glyn Atkinson I would look at further education at General Certificate level if you can afford it and can make time with your current business work load. It's the professional starting point that employers use as their minimum level. As an employer of safety assistant / advisor roles, that is my minimum requirement from a C/V.
