I have the certificate and have spent the last few years involved in Health and Safety as a manager from shift to production director level. I am just about to take my diploma exams in January and need some advice about getting into freelance work.
I currently work as Manufacturing consultant and when asking other H+S consultants about the way into freelance, they all suggest getting more experience !!!!
Are there any consultancies out there who nurture new talent? or do you just go and get your own work and learn on the job so to speak?
James

Hi James - some take a risk! We are currently looking for somebody, perhaps a first jobber to take on. Perhaps if you could provide an email contact I could tell you more?
Kind regards
Paula

Dear James
I am a H&S consultant requiring some assistance for the next three months or so doing H&S risk assessments at retail parks, industrial estates and office buildings. Is this something you could help me out with as it could give you consultancy experience in the property sector? I require someone who is able to travel throughout the UK with the majority of properties being London based.
Pleaes do not hesitate to contact me on 07967136871 to discuss.
Kind regards
Libby.

ok all,
firstly thanks for your replies, but due to forum rules I can't see them????
so please send your replies directly to james@beresford-wylie-consultancy.co.uk
every time I log on to read they are 'unavailable', reading the small print I guess this is because they are career related!! which oddly sounds like the whole point of a career forum, no?
