Hello All,

I am struggling!

After completing my certificate 2 years ago, I have never been able to enroll onto a Diploma course.

I am self funding and would love to work in Health & Safety. However 2 recent additions to the family in as many years is definately paying it's toll on the bank account.

Finally the question is the title to the thread. Can funding, grants, or sponsorship be accessed?

Please reply via e-mail if you have detailed information

Thank you Graham

In short it depends partly on where you intend to study the Diploma.. at a Uni/College or through a training company.

All Universities/Colleges will have funds available, either grants or bursaries at a push a student loan could be an option. To get specific details give them a ring and ask for the Student Services Centre (or something similar) or anyone who deals with Post Grad financies.

Through a pirvate company the only option i'm aware of would be through a Career Development Loan. These are available through a number of high street banks. There are some conditions though, mainly you must be on a career break (not working) for period of study. Also the repayments start as soon as the course finishes (for the Dip 1/2yrs). Also the centre at which you intend to study (uni/college or otherwise) will have to be registered with the scheme (All uni's and colleges should be).

It is certainly worthwhile contacting you Local Education Authority (LEA) also as they will be able to offer you expert advise.

Hope this helps a little.

Rob.
