Posted By malc saunders Hi there, There are no tests to do to get in to Dubai or when you are here. If you are to work on a Nakheel site you will have to sit a test which is quite easy to do.... I remember sitting a test years ago with the Municipality which was an insult! The major framework on legislation is called DM Code of Construction Practice 61/1991. In essence this is a mish mash of the old 61 and 66 regs, lifting ops, working places etc... This is supported by an environmental protection and safety section which issues guidance, similar to the UK. For my own company i have issued a safety management system (SMS) based on modern day UK Regulations, plus what we would consider to be best practice for this part of the world.. I just wish that more companies took notice of the legislation that is here!! If you require any further info please come back to me...regards, Dean.

Posted By Chris D David, once you are here and if you are to be employed on PCFC projects you must sit and pass an exam by PCFC which entails a 2 day course. Its not exceptionally difficult however some of the questions are specific to the projects governed by PCFC so you must read the regs inside out. If you would like further info please contact me direct.
