Posted By Bob B Please help To add an extra qualification to my CV, I have decided to do an in depth fire course (3-5 days ish) I am torn between the NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management to bolt on to my NGC, or an Institute of Fire safety Managers (IFSM) accredited course. If you opt for the NEBOSH route I strongly recommend the you purchase in advance the NEBOSH Cert in Fire Safety and Risk Management second edition ISBN 978-1-900420-88-4 priced £24.95 The link below is for the NEBOSH Fire Certificate course outline http://www.nebosh.org.uk...01009072492007101125.pdf Regardless of which course you decide on, my advice would be to undertake several Fire Assessments as soon as possible after the course and with this experience you can apply for your name to be included on the approved fire risk assessors register compiled by the Institute of Fire Engineers. So I think the latter would look better on your CV regardless of which training route you took. Posted By Richie H Bob, I can only speak from experience of attending the NEBOSH course and i must say i was disappointed! In my humble opinion it appeared that this course could have been compiled into 2 or 3 days at best..... i left with the opinion of it been a money spinner on the back of the new Fire Reform Order. I did of course gain some knowledge with regards fire risk management however i was left feeling there should / could have been more! Cheers, Richie

Posted By Philip Beale I did my NEBOSH fire cert at "the fire service" college 5 day course which covered the NEBOSH plus lots more and was aimed at carrying out fire risk assessments and the training needed. The exam was on a separate day after the 5 day course Excellent course Phil
