Posted By maxmillan maddy Hi Guys Thanks guys for yor Input on my previous thread. I am in a dilemma at the moment. How do I get on the ladder to becoming a cdm co ordinator as i have no construction background? I have almost 6 years experience in health and safety with a production company but it was an add on role to my normal job. I want to go into construction because of how vast the industry is and the challenges it brings. I have enrolled on the Neb. Cert. in Const. next month and I am hoping to finish in June. I know the Nebosh Cert. is not enough to get me to my main goal however the question is how do I get there in my situation. Thanks

Posted By Advanced Safety I think the construction qualification is more important than the H & S qualification. A Nebosh Construction Cert will not give you experience of design and construction methods. I would personally go for a HND/BSc in a Construction subject if CDM-C is definately the route you wish to follow. my opinion of course. Read the cdm ACoP, it will give you the level of competency required. Good luck
