Posted By M. Thompson Hi, I completed a NEBOSH general certificate last year (with distinction) and am really trying to find a full time position in H&S. I spent 5 years as a safety rep and a little time as an acting safety coordinator prior to taking the course, only for the company to tell me it will never become full time. I have a little management experience, but to be fair, I still require some guidance in doing the job full time. I would also be willing to take any necessary courses to further my position, the only problem is, a diploma isn't an option right now, as I cannot get the time off to do it whilst at my present job! Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated. My home town is Scunthorpe, and all of my experience so far is within the steel fabrication industry, although I would be happy to change. Many thanks.

Posted By Matt Hood I am currently looking for an advisor in the Humber region so if you send your cv to safety@langness.co.uk I will have a look at it.

Posted By simon coupland sprout M. Good luck in finding work in sunny Scunny, i live there myself but could not find any work in the town. The best bet may be to start off contracting, especially try the oil refinery's when they are going to have a 'shutdown'. This could gain you valuable experience and enable you to move on to more permanent local work. If you need some contacts for the Immingham/Killingholme area feel free to get in touch. all the best Simon.
