Posted By Trev_Brown Hi, I am looking for advise on how to get an employer to give me the 1st step opportunity into H & S I have been the Health and Safety Coordinator for the department for several years. I have the NEBOSH Gen Cert / Tech IOSH / attended the CDM 2007 Course and am located in the North West. Hi,
I can understand your frustration there isnt much I can say except keep applying for Jobs which match your skills. I had a similar problem at I must say a mature age (50). I kept trying and am now a H&S manager for a 90 million pound turnover company. The answer is dont give up hope there will be a job out there for you it just takes time and persistance and a strong believe of the benifits H&S can bring to a company.

I've been trying for nearly 2yrs and haven't even had an interview yet all you can do is keep trying. I keep doing different courses to keep up with H&S the best as I can but its expensive and time consuming as its all done after work as my employers aren't interested in helping. Just keep trying I'm sure something will turn up soon.
