Posted By GPS I am sure these questions have all been asked before many many times, but please be gentle on me as I'm a bit battered and bruised at present. I arrived into work last Tuesday for a meeting was asked to go into my bosses office and told my job was at risk of being made redundant. My lap top was taken from me and I was given a letter to read and to come back next day for a formal meeting. Well what a shock that was and I'm back next Wednesday to hear the result which seems is all decided anyway. My redundancy payment amount was already calculated and the jobs they were offering were for a H & S professional somewhat grim I don't think having the word trainee in the job title helped. Anyway I'm not looking for sympathy but help with what they are doing to me. I have called the IOSH helpline but if anyone has any views to assist me please share. Having done 25 years in Health & Safety and 5 years to retire if anyone knows of a part time job for a Certificate holder who has worked in the Motor Industry, Telecommunications, NHS Trust, College for Further Education please contact me. I live in Harrow. Oh if you want to know why I was made redundant they said cost and to reduce a payroll head. So they got a consultant to do it but won't let me bid for the work.

Posted By IOSH Moderator GPS Please could you make your e-mail visible (from 'update my details') or post some contact details. Otherwise it will be very difficult for others to help you without breaching the AUGs on advertising. Regards Jane
