Posted By Phil Errup Hi all, I am wondering if it is worthwhile taking this course (e-learning). I'm currently only tech IOSH but is toying with the idea of taking this if it is going to be the only course my employer will fund this financial year? Or should I wait until I am able to sit a degree in health safety and environment even if that means waiting another year. Your thoughts please? Many thanks, Phil

Posted By Phil Errup There is, and I have spoken to NEBOSH about it. It is being piloted by a few companies. As it's only level 3 I am not sure if it is worthwhile, but then I am thinking, as an introduction to environmental aspects it could be a good opportunity?

Posted By SWS Phil, Have you considered the IEMA two week course?? If you pass the exam, you automatically become AIEMA

Posted By Will Pool All I have spoke with IEMA, NEBOSH & 1 or 2 course providers and whilt the course may be worthwhile and at a reasonable price, IEMA do not recognise it. You would still require to go through their Open Book Assessment if you wished to gain Associate Membership. It may be more cost effective to do an IEMA Accredited course if you wish to pursue this option.

Posted By SWS Phil, Having dabbled with environmental a little before, I found the IEMA course very good, but don't get fooled by the open book punch line, it's not quiet as easy as it sounds. As for the course it was interesting, in-depth and very beneficial. You may wish to contact IEMA as I understand when I took my exam in January they were talking about changing the format slightly. But my recommendation would be with their course. Regards Si
