Hi all,
I have just completed an Msc in Environment health and safety and would love to get involved with the health and safety in the oil and gas industry. Are there any more courses that I require? How do I get into this industry with only a 3 months work placement in construction under my name.
All opinion welcome

I would say, to be honest - you will find it difficult to get into oil/gas etc with only that much experience.
I'm not saying you won't, but there are plenty of guys out here with oil/gas experience - which despite not having Msc levels quals, will be immediately employable and not require much/if any training.
Hate to be harsh, but its the commercial reality I'm afraid. I would suggest you try and get more h&s/environmental experience in industrial h&s etc and keep trying for the oil/gas sector if thats what you really want.

Another possible alternative is to look for an oil & gas 'greenfield' project, which will initially consist of construction work. (This is what I'm working on at the moment in Kuwait).
It can be 1-2 years into the project before there is any large element of O&G to worry about, and this was certainly something I took account of in recruiting my team.
Good luck
Phil
