Posted By SharonR Hi This is my first post to this forum so please forgive me if I am asking some questions that may have been asked before. I have been a Library Manager for the past five years where in my role I have been the facilities manager for two libraries. My role is varied but it is the health and safety side of my current job that I love hence my decision to hopefully make health and safety a full time role for me in the future. I am currently studying the certificate and I take my exams at the beginning of September and I have also sent off my application to join IOSH today. My problem will be that although I have attended training courses since I have been a manager and I have taken the NEBOSH I am going to be lacking in experience when I apply for positions. Is there any advice that anyone can give me to get myself on the right track. Thanks in advance for your help and thanks for reading this thread. Sharon

Posted By SharonR Hi Thanks for the advice and the best wishes for my forthcoming exams. I have been talking to my tutors at college and they have suggested pretty much the same, to get my c.v. together and send it to as many companies as I can to at least let them know I am looking. I have thought about offering my services on a volunteer basis to a organisation but when I work full time anyway and am studying as well this does not seem to be an option at the moment. I just need someone who is willing to give me a junior post working with someone so that I can build up my experience so if anyone has anything going in Hampshire please let me know. Justin - well done in passing your certificate and I hope that something comes up for you too very soon. Fingers crossed for both of us. Sharon
