Posted By Lee R Dear all I am currently working as a Signal and Telecommunications installer for a Railway Company, as well as my role as Installer I also carry-out duties as a Health and Safety Representative. I've been a representative for the past five years advising Employees and Management on all aspects of Health and Safety, Carrying-out inspections and accident investigations. At the start of last year I made the decision that I would like to take on the role of Health and Safety full-time, I looked in to the training needed so I could take on a full-time role, Hence I enrolled myself on to the NEBOSH Certificate, which I passed with a credit back in May, I'm taking my passion and knowledge of Health and Safety to the next level by self funding the NEBOSH Diploma starting September. I've been applying for positions for a full time role in Health and Safety but with no success as my experience keeps letting me down. I would be grateful if there are any practitioners within the North West area that would allow me to Shadow them to gain experience. Kind Regards Lee Rigby 07515261661 LeeRigby3@Hotmail.com

Posted By Glyn Atkinson I am amazed that your practical railway experiences over 5 years have not at least got you to interview stage at some point. Many people on here would love to have that practical level + NGC under their belt. I agree that different sector work would enhance your chances of work - are you aiming to move away from railway safety work? That seems to be a high earner with plenty of job vacancies at the moment, and would look to be your best route into a full time H&S role? Best of luck in whatever way you choose to go!
